Electromechanica, Inc. designed and constructed a custom Highly Accelerated Stress Screen (HASS) system as part of a quality assurance program for a major door systems company. This fully automated, LabVIEW® based test system applies a matrix of stressors to the device under test including:

• Thermal
• Line voltage
• Drive torque
• Release cable force
• Transmit and Receive RF levels

Environmental variables and all relevant device operating parameters are recorded during the test for predictive failure analysis.

Design elements for this project included:

• Design & fabrication of a custom RF shielding enclosure capable of withstanding the HASS environment

• Custom RF test system for Minimum Detectable Signal (MDS) determination and DUT control

• National Instruments LabVIEW® based test control and data acquisition program

• Fully instrumented mechanical load simulator for torque and linear force application
