Electromechanica Inc. was contracted to design and build two identical PCB functional test systems for a major security system manufacturer. This test system is a complete turnkey testing and programming solution, performing complete functional test, programming and data logging.

Functions performed include:

• Voltage and current measurement
• Serial communication checks
• Microcontroller programming
• Serial number label printing

Connection to the DUT is achieved using spring-loaded contact probes in initial functional test, and thru an onboard connector for final test and programming.

DUT clamping and spring probe actuation is provided using a completely integrated pneumatic control system. The entire test sequence is automated and controlled via PC using National Instruments LabVIEW.
